I thought the best way to start off with a bang was to do a review over my favorite things that I discovered, used and loved during the month of January! Let's begin!
MUSIC:
- Are You Satisfied? by Marina and the Diamonds (Epic. What more can I say?)
- Answer by Daisuke Ono (Spiffy. Honestly, describes the whole music video.)
- Make Your Move by The Relapse Symphony (Inspiring. I love this band, and I hope they go far.)
- Copics - I have been loving BG23 (Coral Sea) and G12 (Sea Green). I drew a bookmark for my Student Government Advisor, and these colors just POPPED. <3
- EGUANA from D.A. - This girl has TALENT. I discovered her two weeks ago on DeviantArt and I truly admire her mad shading skills. Check out her Gallery! I provided a link to one of my personal favorites from her gallery. http://eguana.deviantart.com/art/Commission-taco-floaties-326025626
- NEVAART from D.A. I love the different pieces of this illustration that truly make it what it is. A GORGEOUS piece of art. From the highlighting of his blue hair to his eyes that pierce me, I think her skills are truly admirable. -http://nevaart.deviantart.com/art/One-hell-of-a-priest-348319259
- Blast of Tempest - I will do a separate post reviewing this anime. For now, I say GO WATCH. The two main characters are Fuwa Mahiro and Yoshino Takigawa. I can't get enough. At the moment, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the nest episode to happen. It has hints of romance, but it is mostly an action anime full of sweet flashbacks and sword/magic battles around every corner. A+.
- Magi - You have not watched this anime, yet!? FOR REAL!? The story revolves around Alibaba, Aladdin (aka Magi) and Morgiana (Slave). At some moments, the story can drag, but you are quickly thrown back into action. It has a great selection of characters, and if it is not a thing already, a video game needs to be quickly produced! I don't want to spoil anything, but there are some very neat magic items *SPOILER-djinn vessels-SPOILER* that are utilized in battle. The graphics are great, and the manga is probably even more amazing! A.
- Bus Gamer - The popularity of this anime is not high, but it is one of my FAVORITE animations ever. The production of this anime was cut off after episode 3, but not for reasons that you might think. The magazine the manga had been featured in had ended, so the manga only goes up to chapter 11. There is volume 1 of the manga and a Pilot Edition. This series was drawn and written by Kazuya Minekura, who is also known for Saiyuki and Wild Adapter. If given a chance, I think this story could have been cultivated into a masterpiece. With a personal bias, A+.
- Annarasumanara by HA Il-Kwon - A manwa and online comic, the protagonist Yoon Ah-ee, is a girl who is trying to support her younger sister and herself. She hears about a rumor saying that a magician was living in an abandoned amusement park who can do some crazy things. I LOVE this story. After finishing this, I was taught so many life lessons and I learned somethings about myself. INSPIRED. I think this truly shows us how silly we are, as humans, and the many emotions we have. The differences in social class, which is not only money, but the expectations and burdens we may have. I highly encourage you to give it a read. A+.
- Bloodhound by Kaori Yuki - A manga that features a girl named Rion, as the main character, who is searching for a missing friends. Inside a club, she looks for her friend and finds her amongst gorgeous male escorts that are, um, vampires. Maybe. Who likes the story spoiled, for real? The series was turned into a drama, which I recommend as well. However, I was slightly disappointed in the female lead. Overall, love the story! LOVE Kaori Yuki. Genius. A.
- Okinimesu Mama by Akino Matsuri - I love the story! It has a strong ongoing flow of comedy throughout all 6 chapters. On many manga sources, it is listed as ongoing, but I feel it most likely will not have any new chapter releases in the future. The main character is the daughter of a duke, Jacqueline, who cross dresses as a boy to sneak into a troupe of traveling actors. The story has numerous themes of different works by Shakespeare entwined into the story line. If you want a good laugh and some sweet moments, I highly recommend this series. A.
- Technicolor Palette by Make Up Forever - This beautiful palette features a gorgeous range of colors. The colors give a sweet and soft glow for a charming look. I got to play with the colors today at Sephora with one of my BFFs during our make up consultations. This palette is the perfect way to treat yourself for a fun night out or just to feel absolutely stunning. I am purchasing this pronto~ <3 x 8 http://www.sephora.com/technicolor-palette-P377819?skuId=1487842
- Ultra Repair Cream by First Aid Beauty - During the cold and unforgiving dry winter air, I need something strong and affordable to keep my skin from flaking. I apply a generous amount after every time I cleanse or exfoliate my skin. I usually buy the 2 oz. tube and it lasts me about 3 months for $12. I recommend this product for those who suffer from very dry skin as well. Enjoy! <3 x 10 http://www.sephora.com/ultra-repair-cream-P248407
- "Gaiety" Blush by NARS - This is my new favorite blush. The color is a very light bubblegum pink, and gives a soft radiant glow to your cheek bones. It's pricey, but recommended for those who want a soft flush of pink color. Not to forget, NARS make up is amazing! <3 x 7
That is a wrap! I hope you enjoyed my January favorites. If you want a review on anything specific, or something you want me to cover, then let me know in the comment section below or email me! I'm working on getting videos up on my YouTube, so be prepared! I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day, and until next time~ Sayonara!
